| Bio: | Name: Eric Lancaster Birthdate: November 17th Age: 32 Citizenship: American citizen Loyalties: Neutral for now Occupation: 'Problem solver' / bounty hunter / tourist Background: Eric Lancaster is something of a peculiarity amongst the Europeans - a no-nonsense American who usually serves his own interests. He was originally brought to Europe to act as an unobvious observer on behalf of an American arms company wanting to know more about the status of French armaments in preparation for conflict with Germany. Unfortunately for all concerned, France was woefully unprepared for war. By the time his report had returned to his business companions overseas, the Germans were already invading, eviscerating the French army and taking over the country even faster than Eric himself had suspected. Since then, Eric has been mostly trying to lie low and stay out of trouble. He can speak French and a passable amount of German, but has done his best to maintain the ruse of a common American tourist, trapped in an unfortunate situation. This far from home, his status as a neutral party is doubtless something the Germans would overlook if they thought it suitable to their interests. On the other hand, with the Germans keeping such a close eye on everything, escaping for home seems out of the question... Special Skills/Abilities: Eric Lancaster is, to put it modestly, good with his words, great with his fists, and excellent with his gun. He has, over the years, picked up a number of odd little talents related to his profession - from picking locks to fixing machinery to tracking people through the woods - making him a jack-of-all-trades, if a master of none. His way with words, at this point, is his most vital asset, as it may be all that stands between him and an unpleasant fate in the hands of the Germans... Personality: Eric is actually a very cheerful, jovial man when the circumstances don't call for somberness; he has a peculiar sense of humor about the war, and before it actually began was not particularly interested in any side's moral superiority. However, six months of German occupation and Gestapo purges have convinced him that perhaps the Germans really need defeating - and not just to save his own neck. Eric tends to try to do the right thing, but survival almost always comes first to him. He always carries a pocketknife on him, and before the German occupation also had a habit of keeping a pistol handy. (Martial law tending to disapprove of concealed firearms, this is a habit that Eric has had to forgo for the most part.) Appearance: Eric is a scruffy fellow -- about five feet, ten inches tall, with medium-length brown hair, traces of a beard, and a generally amused expression. He tends to wear a long overcoat and fedora, although this is more out of dislike of the cold and rain than out of any desire to look 'cool'. | |||||||||
