Stuck...
Terrific. Not only am I stuck, but my money's starting to run low. Being in an occupied country is bad enough, but being completely impoverished is an open invitation to a bullet. Haven't heard anything from my friends back home yet - devil knows if they even got my last letter. Unless things turn about quickly, I'm more or less on my own when it comes to getting myself out of this mess.

Just the way I like it.
